About
It’s about finding the balance between simplicity and attractive design.
For as long as I can remember I’ve been interested in the simplicity of form. Dick Bruna, the creator of Miffy (Dutch: Nijntje), and Gert Dumbar, creator of the Dutch Railroad logo in the 1960s, have had a great influence on my work.
Before I turned Icon Designer in 2009 I had been designing logos and brand identities for more than 10 years. I was quite familiar with breaking ideas down to the bare essence. When Apple came with the first iPhone I realized that selling icons through iStock could be a real option one day. In 2010 I decided it was time to create icons full time. Perhaps it was because of my never-ending obsession with simplifying things or the fact that I was creating as much icons as I could. Companies were starting to approach me to do custom work for them.
However, the focus will remain on both creating custom icons for clients and icon collections for the web. So far it has been an interesting journey to say the least.

Companies, big and small
We consider it a big deal and great honor when brands or companies, big and small, use our work in their projects. The discovery of one of your icons in some store on some poster or billboard on the other side of the planet will never get old. A big thank you to all for the support. For obvious reasons we would like to show off some of the more well known brands who have been using our work.
